The latch keeps the appliance door closed while it is running, and prohibits the dishwasher from starting when the door is open. Then remove the two screws on the kickplate on the front of the unit below the door. Release the control lock by pressing and holding the "Control Lock," "Heated Dry" or "No Heat Dry" key pad for three seconds. Turn off the power supply of the dishwasher for 1 minute. The Control Lock, or Sleep Mode, feature on a Maytag dishwasher has been activated. The circulation pump is defective.
